What this service keeps
This covers MakeSweet Deluxe. The main site (makesweet.com) has its own policy.
Signing in with Google gives us your basic profile. We cannot see your mail, your files, or anything else in your Google account.
Your email address is how you sign in, and where a reply to any support question goes. Your name is used to address you on the page. Both stay on our own server until you ask for them to go. They are never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train anything.
Traffic here is measured no more closely than on the main site, which uses Google Analytics: which pages are looked at, and roughly from where. None of it is joined up with your account. The typefaces come from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches them from Google as well.
Cookies do no more than keep you signed in and support that measurement. The server keeps ordinary access logs, as any web server does, for no more than a month.
Unlike the main site (makesweet.com), which makes animations in your browser, this service makes them on a server - so pictures and text you send necessarily reach us.
A picture is served to nobody until you publish it, and most never are: nothing on the web can reach one. A picture sent so that we could make something is kept no more than a month: it goes to the renderer, and it is held afterwards only so the same picture can be used again without being sent twice - a fortnight from the last time you used one, and then it goes.
A picture in a saved composition stays as long as the composition does, and is deleted as soon as you delete either. Your compositions and your account page list them, and will delete either the moment you ask.
Publishing a duet is the one case where a picture of yours is handed to people neither of us can count. Anybody holding the link gets it, from us, for as long as the duet is up. We do not know who they are and do not try to find out: nothing about the people who open a duet is recorded beyond how many did, and when. Somebody who finishes one may send their animation to you, if they choose to: it is held with the duet, for you alone, for a month, or for as long as the duet is if you are a member, and deleted when you delete it. Stop sharing it, from the composition's own page, and the link stops working at once - though we cannot reach a copy somebody already saved, which is true of anything shown to anybody.
The finished animation or still does have a URL, because passing one on is the point of making it. It is long and random, and it is not advertised or linked to anywhere, so the only way to it is from you. Anyone you give it to can see it.
That URL keeps working for a while, so that something you have already sent on does not stop resolving in somebody else's inbox. How long depends on your plan, and it is never more than six months. Your account page says what you are holding, and will delete any of it at once if you ask.
Your membership key and any API keys are kept, so that your account page can show them to you. A membership key is sent to Gumroad to ask whether it is valid; nothing about you goes with it.
Your renders are counted, because that is what a daily allowance is. All that is recorded is when, and which design, and it is kept no more than three months.
No credit card details and no passwords are stored here: money is Gumroad's business and signing in is Google's. Everything else sits on one small server.
You can remove a membership key, revoke an API key, or disconnect an app yourself on your account. To delete the account and everything with it, write to support@makesweet.com.
